The fifth and final W in the 5W template is WHEN. This W covers when you’re going to do the WHAT. 🙂
There are 2 main parts to this: time frame and frequency.
These 2 parts get combined to give you the when for a marketing action task (as you’ll see below).
- For time frame, you want to indicate if you’re going to complete the task on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- For frequency, you want to indicate how often you’re going to complete the task.
When you combine your frequency with your time frame, you get something like this:
- 1 time/hour
- 2 times/hour
- 1 time/day
- 4 times/day
- 1 time/week
- 3 times/week
- 1 time/month
- 2 times/month
Depending on your task, there might even be a third part to your WHEN—duration (how long you’re going to do it each time you do it). So for example, you might commit to interacting with the members of your Facebook group 1 time/day for 30 minutes.
The more specific you get, the easier it will be to schedule your tasks and to know if you’ve completed them or not.
And that’s the WHEN. Any questions or thoughts on this, please comment on this post.
I’m going to be posting a wrap-up post for the 5W template, so please put your thinking caps on—in the comments for that post, I’ll be asking you to post an example of a full 5W for a single task!
